Tay-K sued for wrongful death in Chick-Fil-A shooting

Lucia "Lucy" Saldavir, the mother of a man killed in an April 2017 shooting outside a San Antonio Chick-Fil-A, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Tay-K (real name Taymor Travon McIntyre), according to a report by ABC KSAT 12 News. The rapper is currently in prison awaiting trial for the April 2017 shooting, which killed 23 year old Mark Anthony Saldavir, and for the murder of Ethan Walker, a 21 year old who was killed in a home invasion on July 27, 2016.

McIntyre is accused of shooting Saldavir with two accomplices after robbing him of "expensive camera equipment," according to the lawsuit. It reads: "[McIntyre] intentionally and knowingly and recklessly committed criminal homicide or murder by shooting and killing [Saldavir after he] resisted the attempts against him by [McIntyre] to rob him of his camera equipment."

At the time of the shooting, McIntyre had fled the house arrest he was serving as he awaited trial in the Walker murder. McIntyre was arrested by police in New Jersey in July 2017 — by that time his music video "The Race," which contains footage of Tay-K next to his wanted poster, had already begun to go viral. Since then the video for "The Race" has amassed over 136 million views and a platinum certification.

Lucia Saldavir is reportedly suing McIntyre for $1 million in damages.
