In case he’s new to you, Zubin is a very angelic Philly singer people love to call “the Soundcloud Weeknd.” In a FADER profile earlier this month, one of things he said was how much, growing up, he loved Bam Margera’s brother’s group CKY: “That was the coolest shit, people being reckless and playing rock.”
Today, we’re debuting the video for “Days Are Numbered,” from his recent, excellent Misery EP. The project was produced entirely by Nedarb (Lil Peep, Xavier Wulf) and the clips was filmed at his house in L.A.: “Quiet Cam directed the vid and filmed everyone turning up,” Zubin says. “It was just me and some friends getting fucked up, you might recognize some of them in the vid.”
Don’t think they’re all in the clip but some of those friends — Wicca Phase Springs Eternal, Fantasy Camp, Jon Simmons, Foxwedding, and Nedarb — have formed a sort of alt-rap supergroup with Zubin called Misery Club. Their first EP, Club Misery, came out last week and it’s my favorite thing when I feel like life is a slow drip into a clogged drain, which is always.
