According to Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg, Kanye West will produce a seven-song project from Chance The Rapper. "It does appear that way," Rosenberg teased. On Thursday's episode of his YouTube talk show Open Late with Peter Rosenberg, the two sat down for a conversation where Chance confirmed the rumors.
“I've been actively working on the project with Childish. I’m going to do a seven-track with Ye,” Chance said, acknowledging that Kanye had long been his favorite rapper before they knew each other on a personal level. He also gave an update on the Childish Gambino collaboration. “We’ve got six songs that are all fire, but I think the album is going to be more than 14 songs.”
The projects are separate worka from Chance's debut solo album, Rosenberg said. "Sounds like he's in the lab on his own album, he's in the lab, sounds like, on this Kanye album, and him and Gambino... already have stuff done."
Kanye West has been a prolific producer in 2018, working on beats for albums by Pusha-T, Teyana Taylor, his collaboration with Kid Cudi Kids See Ghosts, and his own solo album ye. In a recent New York Times interview, Kanye said he wants to make "52 albums in 52 weeks." Chance The Rapper's Coloring Book was released in 2016.
