Teyana Taylor appeared on Hot 97's Ebro In The Morning on Thursday to discuss her new album K.T.S.E. Fairly quickly, the conversation turned to the album's rollout, and Taylor described how the process evolved into G.O.O.D. Music's notorious rollout of five albums in five weeks, including projects by Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and Nas. Watch the discussion above at 6:00 via DJBooth.

"At first I didn't really know that it was going to be the five album thing until we had our last meeting," Taylor says, adding that initially her album and Pusha-T's were meant to be released around the same time (Pusha's DAYTONA ended up being the first album released, and K.T.S.E came out last). "Once [Kanye] said his [album] and everybody else, I was a little nervous at first. I was like 'Y'all niggas is legends, I ain't trying to be up in the middle of all of that'." Taylor says she ended up "going with the flow" out of her desire to release the music she had prepared.

However, there were some elements of the rollout Teyana was not aware of. ”I didn’t know ahead of time that there wouldn’t be any singles or visuals,” she said. "But I knew that it was going to be the five-album thing, [Kanye] wanted [my album] to be last, you know, he wanted mine to be the biggest. That's the way they sauced it up. I was sold.”

Taylor voiced her disapproval with the album's rollout last week during an interview with Big Boy's Neighbourhood. She announced that a new version of K.T.S.E would be released the following week, but it was cancelled due to sample clearance issues. She says the songs will appear in upcoming visuals.
