Nickelodeon is reviving Rugrats
Tommy, Chuckie, and the gang will return to TV and in a new movie.
Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures have revived Rugrats for a TV series and live-action movie, Variety reports. The animated show, which ran on Nickelodeon between 1991-2004, will return in 2020.
The TV show will consist of 26 episodes while a live-action film featuring CGI characters will follow. Both will feature "new adventures with beloved characters Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, Susie and Angelica, and will also introduce a new world of characters." The show’s original creators Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó and Paul Germain will return to the TV series as executive producers.
Rugrats's return marks the latest '90s revival following MTV 's decision earlier this year to bring back Daria, Real World, and more of its vontage classics.
