Chief Keef is partnering up with Hologram USA to kick off a hologram tour at the end of August. Named "Chief Keef and the Icons of American Music" tour, a hologram version of Keef will play shows at the Hammersmith Apollo in London on August 31st and September 1st. The drill rapper is also looking to play a show in his hometown of Chicago, as Pitchfork points out.
“Chief Keef will beam in live to the shows to deliver his message of peace and anti-violence, despite having been banned from entering the UK and the city of Chicago,” a press release statement reads.
Chief Keef has attempted to perform hologram concerts in the past, with police shutting down shows in Los Angeles and Indiana on both occasions.
Speaking with Billboard about the shows, Chief Keef shared his thoughts on Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel, who has criticized Keef in the past. “Police and the mayor wanted to stop my hologram show in Chicago. Fuck Rahm Emanuel, I’m bringing it anyway. First up, London.”
Keef's 2015 Indiana hologram show — which was shut down — was initially slated to be in Chicago, but reportedly faced heavy opposition from City Hall.
