In what is perhaps the only piece of good news this year, Phil Elverum of Mount Eerie and actress Michelle Williams have gotten married. Williams revealed the news in a recent Vanity Fair profile, saying their relationship is "very sacred and very special." Elverum and Williams were married in early July at a private and intimate ceremony in the Adirondacks in upstate New York.
Elverum's first wife Geneviève passed away in 2016, after Phil set up a GoFundMe to pay for the medical expenses of the artist and musician (the couple had a daughter together). As Mount Eerie, Phil Elverum grappled with the grief over two subsequent and incredible albums A Crow Looked At Me and Now Only.
Williams's relationship with Heath Ledger produced a daughter named Matilda. "I parent to let Matilda feel free to be herself, and I am finally loved by someone who makes me feel free," Williams, a four-time Oscar nominee, says in the profile.
Congratulations to the happy and insanely talented couple.
