Phosphorescent announces new album, shares first single
Matthew Houck is back with his first new music in five years.
Phosphorescent, the folk rock project of Matthew Houck, has announced a new album. C'est La Vie, which arrives on October 5th via Dead Oceans, marks his first album in five years (besides 2015's Live at the Music Hall). In that time, Houck "fell in love, started a family, left New York for Nashville, and built a studio from the ground up," and according to a press release, the record will document that.
In anticipation, he's shared the first single, "New Birth in New England." It's a rather optimistic tune about staying for one more drink and finding serendipity. Listen below, and check out Houck's upcoming tour dates here.
