Despite winning the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Music for his album DAMN,, Kendrick Lamar doesn't appear to be resting on his laurels. During an Instagram Live session, Isaiah Rashad, a rapper signed to Lamar's label Top Dawg Entertainment, said that he'd heard "whole dot album, damn near" ("dot" is an abbreviation of Lamar's nickname, K Dot).
A new release from Lamar could be part of T.D.E.'s hopefully busy end-of-2018 release schedule. Label C.E.O. Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith promised last week on Twitter that they would release at least two more projects, while "trying for 4." Rashad's session didn't reveal exactly who those artists would be: "Got a little Reason, got a little SiR, [ScHoolboy] Q finna drop," he said, laughing that "SZA hair green so you know it's finna be fire."
For his own project, a follow-up to 2016's The Sun's Tirade, Rashad joked that he'd been getting "lazy" with its creation.
Soon after the release of DAMN. in 2017, Lamar claimed on Instagram Live that he had "more music coming." He later walked back the statement on Twitter: "My work will be in our future TDE dates," he said.
