Netflix’s Insatiable is being renewed for a second season
Despite public outcry to cancel the series.
Controversial Netflix series Insatiable is officially being renewed for a second season. The show's cast announced the news in a video, which appeared across the show's social platforms on Wednesday evening.
The comedy, which follows the life of a teenager named Patty who exacts revenge on her bullies after she loses weight, was accused of "fat-shaming" and for promoting the "toxicity of diet culture." The backlash was so potent that, ahead of the show's August 10 debut, thousands of people signed a Change.org petition calling for Netflix to cancel the series. At the time of writing, the petition currently boasts over 235,000 signatures.
The second season will debut sometime in 2019.
