New York’s resident rapper and skater, Black Dave was crowned the winner of the Share The Stage competition where over 150 other artists competed to open for ScHoolboy Q at House of Vans Chicago. Not only did he secure his opening spot for the show but a music video as part of the competition’s prize. He is using this momentum from his recent performance as an opportunity to premiere his new music video “Surfin.” We know Black Dave as a skater, a rapper and now he is making his directorial debut. The video is set in Coney Island making it the perfect nod to the summer in his home city of New York. Although he admits to having childhood memories of the iconic locale, Black Dave says he chose the location to pay homage to cult classic films set on Coney Island. Check out the video above.
