Hear two new songs from Japanese Breakfast

Last year, Polyvinyl released the third iteration of their 4-Track Singles Series, a box set of 7" vinyls featuring new singles from acts such as Joyce Manor, Jay Som and Twin Peaks. The catch was that each single was recorded on a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder.

Today, Japanese Breakfast's take on the project has been posted online. Her two singles, “2042” and “Posing In Bondage,” are understandably stripped back compared to her last project, 2017's celestial Soft Sounds From Another Planet. Nevertheless, they offer a fresh glimpse into the sonic world Michele Zauner is building with her bandmates. Stream the tracks below.
