Former Yves Saint Laurent director Hedi Slimane debuted his inaugural collection for Celine over the weekend and it was a certified catasphrophe. Fans and critics of the the acclaimed French fashion house lamented Slimane's washed-up designs, which were no more than an extension of his work at YSL. As sequined ballerina dresses, tiny hats, and skinny suits replaced the structural elegance that marked former creative director Phoebe Philo's reign at Céline, a new Instagram account called @oldceline reminds us of the genius of Philo's work over the past decade. The account launched a little after Slimane announced that he would be dropping the line's "é" and chronicles Philo's designs from past runways and campaigns, serving as a salve against Celine's new, unfortunately pedestrian direction.
