On Wednesday night, Tidal streamed a live conversation between Lil Wayne and Elliott Wilson in New Orleans for a new episode of Wilson's CRWN series. During the lengthy interview, Tunechi revealed a ton of new information about Tha Carter V which finally dropped last Friday. He addressed Drake's noticeable absence from the project, chalking it up to clearance issues.
As earlier revealed, Drake had initially been featured on the record's R&B moment, "What About Me." Pitchfork reports that Weezy said “a few of the singles that [Drake and I] released throughout the years" were recorded for Tha Carter V, such as “Believe Me” which dropped back in 2014.
Elsewhere in the interview, he touched on the album's collaborations with Nicki Minaj and Kendrick Lamar— newer and older tracks, respectively. He also discussed his reconciliation with Birdman. Watch the entire interview below, via Tidal.
