In April, Prince George's County, Maryland rapper Ciscero released "Function," a soulful tune that dug into the many vices people lean on to get through their everyday lives. The song featured GoldLink — who Ciscero regularly works with — as well as DMV singer April George and built on the hearty raps that he's been releasing over the past few years. "Function" was also the first single from Ciscero's debut EP Devil's Pie, which is set to release before the year's end.
Today, The FADER is premiering the project's second, and more upbeat single, "Bite Down." Much like "Function," the song focuses on facing your demons, but this time around, Ciscero tries to decide if giving into them will be rewarding. The song also features rising DMV rapper Black Fortune whose "DMV Anthem" has been one of the region's most celebrated tracks this year. "'Bite Down' is what happens when you’re presented with the option to bite down into your vices, or take the responsible route," Ciscero shared of the track over email. "Sometimes you just bam out., taking them chances, hoping the consequences are worth it." Listen to "Bite Down" below.
