Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born soundtrack has debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200. The soundtrack is Gaga's fifth album to debut at no. 1 and Cooper's first.
The album earned 231,000 equivalent album units in its first week, 162,000 of which were traditional album sales. Billboard reports the soundtrack's debut week marks the biggest week for a soundtrack in more than three-and-a-half years. The publication also notes Gaga and Cooper's soundtrack follows Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson’s 1977 version, which topped the chart for six weeks.
Rounding out the top of the chart is twenty one pilots's Trench, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V, Lil Baby and Gunna's Drip Harder , and Eric Church's Desperate Man, respectively.
