Joy Postell, a rising soul artist from Baltimore, is itching for one of those breakups where you say a bunch of things you might regret. She lays it all out on "Signs," a velvet track with a punchy, lo-fi beat from Ohbliv. She co-directed the video with Keem Griffey, and it's premiering today on The FADER. The clip is not afraid to cut or alter the song to aid the video's story along, a mark of confidence, and one that heightens the song's groovy, compulsive venom.

"This video is definitely an ode to Baltimore love," Postell told The FADER in an email. "[The video] highlights what happens when shit hits the fan. I’ve had so many misshaped love affairs that could have been avoided had I listened to my intuition and this video illustrates one of those experiences. I sing about heading the warnings and honoring yourself first."

"Signs" is taken from Joy Postell's upcoming EP Diaspora, out in November.
