Sinead Harnett and producer JD. Reid's "System" is a feather-like song about the early days of a relationship when anything seems possible. Over a warm and velvety Reid beat, Harnett sings "There's every possibility we're falling in love." The accompanying video, premiering above, catches that floaty vibe perfectly with early morning light streaming through the window into an intimate recording session.
Speaking to The FADER via email, Harnett said: "I’ve explored a lot of darker shades in my song writing, but 'System' was a chance to explore some light. I’d fallen into a mad love, and JD. Reid’s production took me back to it’s first bloom. When it first hits you, and you clock that this one is special. That young, new, teenage, feeling love.”
"System" is out now via MARS. A new Sinead Harnett project is due later this year.
