Vince Staples to star in upcoming heist drama Punk

Vince Staples will bring some of that natural charisma to his first lead role in a feature-length film. He'll star in the upcoming Punk, according to The Hollywood Reporter, an independent drama written and directed by Richard Hughes.

Staples plays Peter, a young man who embarks on a road trip with a group of "free spirits" he later learns to be bank robbers on the FBI's Most Wanted list. The Long Beach rapper made his acting debut in Rick Famuyiwa's Dope as "Dom's Crew 1." He'll also appear in the upcoming animated film MFKZ as Vinz.
