Jada Pinkett-Smith invited Kid Cudi to the latest episode of her Red table Talk show to talk one of today's most popular topics: mental health, Uproxx points out.
The episode — released via Facebook TV on Monday — saw Cudi, Pinkett-Smith (along with her mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones, and daughter Willow Smith) share stories on living and learning how to deal with depression and anxiety.
Cudi told the group that he has been dealing with dealing with depression since he was a youth, and even more so as he ascended to musical stardom.
“For a long time, I was not happy when I woke up in the morning,” he said about his early days of success as an artist. “I thought maybe it was stress. At that point, I was doing an album every year so I thought I was just overdoing it and I needed to take a break. It took me a minute to realize that there was something going wrong with me.”
Cudi also detailed his battles with drug addiction, and taking himself to rehab.
