Priests will release new album The Seduction Of Kansas on April 5. The album announcement arrives with the title track. Watch the video for "The Seduction Of Kansas" below.
The punk trio worked with producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Angel Olsen) on the follow-up to 2017's Nothing Feels Natural, recording for two weeks at his Elmwood Studio in Dallas. A lenghty list of world tour dates can be found on the band's official website.
An introduction to the album on the band's site cites musical influences including David Bowie and David Byrne plus the Chris Kraus essay “Pay Attention” and the Eileen Myles anthology The New Fuck You to The Twilight Zone. Vocalist Katie Alice Greer, meanwhile, is said to have embraced lyrics “that felt intuitively fun and good” and shed anxieties about being misunderstood.
