Toddla T links up with Alicai Harley on dancehall banger “Instruction”
A brand new collaboration from the British producer and Jamaican vocalist.
It might be freezing cold outside and feeling like January has been going on for about 65 days now, but Toddla T and Alicai Harley are here to bring some sunshine to your day. Their new collaboration, "Instruction," is an irresistible blast of warm energy designed to raise temperatures from now until the summer.
Harley, born in Kingston, Jamaica but raised in south London since she was 5, gets to flex all over the "Instruction" beat, showcasing her effortless charisma. The same goes for the neon-lit music video, shot in London's Insta-famous tourist spot God's Own Junkyard.
Speaking to The FADER about the song, Harley said: “'Instruction' is a track that I definitely enjoyed making as it takes me back to growing up in Jamaica and singing along to old folks songs with my cousins ‘bruk them one by one gyal and boy’. Working with Toddla on this one was just pure fun and vibes and I hope the listeners can feel that same energy.”
Toddla T, meanwhile, added: "The first time I met Alicai she turned up at my studio to make the record with a bottle of champagne for my birthday! We had a lot of fun and I think you can hear that in the tune.”
