U.K. band Drahla share “Stimulus For Living” from Captured Tracks debut
The post-punk band announce details of debut album Useless Coordinates.
Drahla, a British band now based in London after trekking south from the northern city of Leeds, make the kind of literate punk to kickstart a revolution in your mind. The band's debut album, Useless Coordinates, is released in May and is preceded by the tightly-bound and inventive new single "Stimulus For Living," premiering above.
The video for the song starts with the band enduring a laborious interview randomly cut with scenes of all three members hammering nails into a TV set. Fiery sax is laced over the trio's post-punk landscape as Luciel Brown urges listeners to "take a bite of life." It's a frantic and densley packed song full of ideas and angst.
Speaking about the video, Drahla told The FADER: “Created by the band, 'Stimulus For Living' is a visual composition that reflects the lyric content of the track. Based upon abstracted ideas and thought, challenging standardised format and perception.”
Useless Coordinates is released on May 3 via Captured Tracks. Drahla will accompany the release with a run of tour dates. See here for all dates.
