Vampire Weekend, currently celebrating the release of new album Father Of The Bride, played a seven hour show in New York on Sunday afternoon. The mammoth Webster Hall gig was part of this year's Red Bull Music Festival and involved the band playing hits from across their career. The band took to the stage just after 11 a.m. and played three sets, the second of which was the new album played in full.
As Stereogum points out, the band called on some friends throughout the show. Danielle Haim was on stage to perform Father Of The Bride songs “Hold You Now,” “Married in a Gold Rush,” “We Belong Together,” “Stranger,” and a cover of Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys Are Back in Town.” Later on fellow Haim sisters Alana and Este helped play “This Life.”
Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes was also in the building and took to the stage to sing“Ya Hey” from Modern Vampires Of The City. Check out footage from Webster Hall below.
