Britney Spears has had a rough few months; she was supposed to start another leg of her wildly successful Vegas residency in February, but cancelled it due to her father’s decline in health; mere months later, Britney was reportedly admitted to a mental health facility against her will. And over the last couple of weeks, she’s been in court attempting to loosen her father’s conservatorship over her career, an agreement that has, until this point, allowed her father Jamie Spears to make the vast majority of her financial and personal decisions for her.
Now, Britney’s manager Larry Randolph is telling Variety that in addition to the cancellation of her Vegas residency, Britney may never perform again. “If she never works again, she never works again,” Randolph said. “If she takes off six months or six years, it’s totally fine. To me, it’s about her finding her happy place.”
These comments aren’t the first time Randolph has implied Britney might not make music for a while; speaking to TMZ, the manager said “It’s clear to me she should not be going back to do this Vegas residency, not in the near future and possibly never again.”
