The Lonely Island have released a new half-hour Netflix special and accompanying album. The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience is streaming now and features contributions from Sia and HAIM.
The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience was teased as a "visual poem" but is, in fact, the fictional story of baseball iconss Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco releasing a rap album in 1988. Andy Samberg plays Canesco while his comedy partner Akiva Schaffer is McGwire.
Track titles on the album include "Focused AF" and "Let's Bash." HAIM appear on "IHOP Parking Lot" alongside actress Maya Rudolph.
In 2016 The Lonely Island released the cult movie Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. More recently the group produced Hulu sit-com PEN15.
