Yesterday evening, Chicago-born, Atlanta-based artist Lil Durk shared a brief message on Instagram: "Turning myself in tomorrow." On Thursday, Atlanta Police confirmed to The FADER that multiple arrest warrants have been issued for the rapper. Durk has not yet surrendered to authorities at the time of this post, though his attorneys have told WSB-12 Atlanta that he intends to this afternoon.
The warrants stem from a February shooting at the Varsity, a restaurant in Atlanta. WSBTV's Michael Seiden reported Thursday afternoon that Durk faces five charges: criminal intent to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and for unlawful association with a gang in the participation of a crime.
A representative for Lil Durk declined to comment when reached by The FADER.
