It's been well over two years since indie-pop duo Chairlift officially called it quits. In the time since, Caroline Polachek has lent her elastic voice to collaborations with artists such as Charli XCX, and Fischerspooner, but she's also been busy cooking up her own solo material. Today, she released the lead single from the as-yet untitled upcoming project, a song called "Doors." Polachek produced the track with Jim-E Stack, Dan Nigro and Danny L Harle (whom she previously teamed with on "Ashes of Love").
The beckoning new single arrives with an equally transfixing music video, in which Polachek vaults through a number of abstract realms. “I feel totally out of control of most things in the world," Polachek wrote in a statement on the song. "But can at least build landscapes for the mind.” Watch the "Door" video below.
