If there’s one thing Rihanna loves to do, it’s trolling the hell out of her fans who honestly just want to know when to expect her upcoming album. After sharing that her album would come out sometimes this year, the singer took to Instagram to poke fun at fans growing antsy after passing 2019’s half-year mark.
The singer posted a clip from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta where star Karlie Redd is sharing lie detector results. “Guys, it was all a lie,” Redd says in the clip before a scuffle ensues, implying Rihanna knows her fans are growing restless.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed super producer Pharrell Williams responded in the comments, causing many to assume he worked with her on the project. “They ain’t ready,” he said in the comment. Strangely, some Rihanna fans seemed unhappy with this revelation, despite the pair working together for N.E.R.D.’s 2017 smash single “Lemon” to excellent results wherein everyone collectively decided Rihanna should be named among the best rappers of our generation.
With confirmations from the star that her next project will be a reggae album and reports that some of the genre’s biggest stars including Koffee have been tapped as songwriters, it’s still very possible that Williams contributed to it given his own experience producing for reggae and dancehall artists like Beenie Man and Sean Paul.
