Kid Cudi is coming to Netflix with an "adult-focused animated music series" based on his upcoming album Entergalactic, The Hollywood Reporter revealed on Monday. Both the show and the album are titled Entergalactic, and Cudi will co-write, direct, and executive produce the series along with Kenya Barris, creator of ABC's black-ish.
The Netflix show will prominently feature music from the Entergalactic album. The project's narrative "follows a young man on his journey to discover love," according to a press release. "Enter Galactic" is also the title of a song on Cudi's 2009 album Man on the Moon: The End of the Day.
In May, Cudi confirmed that new music and a tour were coming in 2020. The announcement of Entergalactic came with a celebratory tweet from Cudi who wrote "Im just gettin started!!" See it below:
Cudi's other endeavors outside of music include roles in HBO's Westworld and the upcoming, Luca Guadagnino-directed We Are Who We Are. He'll also appear in the upcoming Bill and Ted sequel BiIll And Ted Face The Music, and Dreamland, a film about the opiod epidemic starring Gary Oldman and Armie Hammer.
