Slowthai, Dave, and The 1975 are nominated for the 2019 Mercury Prize
Little Simz, Nao, and Idles are also on the longlist for this year’s award.
The list of nominees for the 2019 Mercury Prize has been revealed with Slowthai, Dave, Little Simz, and The 1975 all featuring on this year's list. The annual prize rewards one outstanding British album. Last year's prize was won by Wolf Alice for its second album, Visions Of A Life.
Other nominated artists on this year's shortlist include indie bands Idles, Black Midi, Foals, and Fonataines DC. The list is completed by albums from Anna Calvi, Cate Le Bon, NAO, and SEED Ensemble.

The 2019 Mercury Prize ceremony will take place on Thursday September 19 at London's Eventim Apollo. The winner is decided by the judging panel on the day of the ceremony.
Albums by British and Irish artists with a U.K. release date between July 21, 2018 and July 19, 2019 are eligible for the 2019 prize.
