Woodstock 50 has secured a venue, and the music festival will go on as planned on August 16-18, 2019, according to The New York Times. The 50th anniversary of the fest will take place at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.
No acts have been confirmed for Woodstock 50. JAY-Z, Chance The Rapper, Miley Cyrus, and many more were initially announced, but their status is in limbo after Woodstock's well-documented troubles with venues and financiers. Woodstock 50's organizer sued the festival's former investor Dentsu Aegis Network for "sabotage and theft" after pulling out on April 29 — Woodstock 50 vowed to move ahead with new backers, but were soon denied a permit at Watkins Glen International in New York. The festival was also rejected for a permit at Vernon Downs in the town of Vernon, New York.
