Bernie Sanders was a guest of Jimmy Kimmel's on Thursday night and the chat show host quizzed the Presidential hopeful about, among other things, Cardi B.
Cardi is on record as being a fan of Bernie's specifically his stance on free healthcare and college tuition. It would appear that the feeling is mutual with Sanders telling Kimmel that he had spoken to her on the telephone a few times and was impressed by her knowledge and interest in politics.
"She is really smart and she is deeply concerned about what is happening in this country. That's the truth, she comes from a humble background... she wants to make sure that we can improve life for working people in this country," he said.
Cardi posted a clip of his interview to her 47.9m Instagram followers on Friday, urging her fans to: "get more familiar with or candidates “democratic my preference “ Take a little bit of our time and open our eyes on what’s going on in this country and how we can change it."
This isn't the first time that Cardi and Bernie have publicly agreed with each other. After a GQ interview in 2018, in which Cardi praised Roosevelt's New Deal, Sanders tweeted out the permanently true phrase, “Cardi B is right."
