Cardi B concert in Indianapolis pulled over security threat
The Bankers Life Fieldhouse date will now take place in September.
Cardi B's show at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Tuesday night was canceled due to what is being described as a security threat. The headline show was pulled half an hour before it was due to begin with many fans already at the venue.
The news was first broken by the Bankers Life Fieldhouse Twitter account. It was added that the show will now take place on September 11.
Cardi herself later tweeted: "Dear Indiana people I’m so sorry for today. I will like to let you know I was at the venue I was even rehearsing a new move I been excited to do on my show. Unfortunately there was a security threat that is currently under investigation right now. My safety and your safety first."
Finally, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that officials "were notified of an unverified threat to the artist and the artist canceled this evening’s concert - there is no immediate threat to public safety, this not an active incident."
Earlier this week Cardi met with Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. It is understood that she recorded a campaign video for the Senator, who will run for President in 2020.
