Atlanta hasn't aired its third season yet, but FX has already renewed Donald Glover's hit dramedy for a fourth season. The announcement was made on Tuesday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, according to Variety.
Eric Schrier, president of FX Entertainment, issued a statement on the show's renewal: “What more can be said about Atlanta than the critical acclaim and accolades that Donald, Paul [Simms], Dianne [McGunigle], Stephen [Glover], and Hiro [Murai] have earned for two exceptional seasons of what is clearly one of the best shows on television... This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation and we are proud to be their partners.”
Seasons three and four of Atlanta will begin filming in spring 2020; each season will be eight episodes long. Variety estimates that the third season will premiere "in late 2019 or early 2020."
Atlanta has received five Emmy awards and 22 nominations over two seasons.
