Big Hit Entertainment, the k-pop production and management company responsible for forming world-conquerers BTS, has announced that its flagship boyband will take “an official and extended period of rest and relaxation” before touring and making music again. Announced in a statement over the weekend, BigHit assured fans that this hiatus is occurring so that the band’s members have “a chance to enjoy the ordinary lives of young people in their 20s, albeit briefly.”
The BigHit release notes that the past weekend’s Lotte Duty Free Family Concert was the last scheduled BTS event for the foreseeable future, and asks fans to “show consideration for [BTS’] need to rest and enjoy their private time off” if they see a band member in public.
