A frame-by-frame analysis of Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s Instagram makeout sesh
#Shawmila got sloppy to promote Cabello’s new single “Liar” last night. Was it worth it?
Camila Cabello's new single is called "Liar," and it really does make you think: what could she possibly have to lie about? "It's about a person that I didn’t wanna have feelings for and I just didn’t wanna face my feelings," she told 97.1 AMP Radio of the song. "I didn’t wanna like him because I was scared." The track will appear on her sophomore solo album, titled, uhh, Romance, and last night, she released its melodramatic Dave Meyers-directed video.
But nobody's really talking about that because she and Shawn Mendes also put out a different video on his Instagram page last night. To assure everyone that, no, they don't kiss like fish, Cabello and Mendes subjected their followers to nine whole seconds of them making out like they didn't know where each other's mouth was.
Look, I don't really have any invested feelings as to whether #Shawmila are a proper couple or not. Do I find the timing of their Romance to be convenient? Definitely. Does this video look like something my beard and I would have done in high school? Perhaps. But the legitimacy (or lack thereof) of their relationship doesn't make any part of this footage any less cringe. And somehow, it's even more excruciating to see the video broken down into frame-by-frame screenshots. So that's exactly what I did.
Oh shit they're really going for it, huh.
You really don't have to do this.
....
How that nose taste?
This is definitely relatable. I, too, am gasping for air from this press cycle.
Why Shawn so focused though.
AGAIN with the nose tasting. What is in there? A Popeyes sandwich?
I'm fresh out of words — my sincerest apologies. Stream Señorita on Apple Music.
