El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie will receive a theatrical release at the same time it hits Netflix on October 11. Screenings for the movie will run between October 11 through 13 and will be held in 68 cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Albuquerque.
The movie picks up where the final season ended, with Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) driving away from a meth compound in an El Camino. Beyond that, details have been hard to come by, and in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, published this morning, creator Vince Gilligan explained why. “I don't want to open my Christmas presents a week and a half before Christmas,” he said. Gilligan also revealed that 10 characters from the Breaking Bad universe will be involved with the production, though he only named Skinny Pete (Charles Baker) and Badger (Matt L. Jones), Pinkman's two doofus accomplices. You can revisit the teaser trailer above and watch the Pinkman character-refresher here.
