Hear Mariah Carey’s theme song for Black-ish spinoff Mixed-ish

Mariah Carey has recorded a new song to serve as the theme song from upcoming Black-is spinoff Mixed-ish. Titled “In The Mix,” the track hews closer to early Mariah sonically, as opposed to the sleek, bass-heavy sound of last year’s excellent Caution. Listen to “In The Mix” below.

Mixed-ish is a prequel to Black-ish that’s set to outline the early life of Tracee Ellis Ross’ Black-ish character Rainbow Johnson as her family moves from a cult into regulated society. Ross will narrate the show, which was created by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and is set to premiere next Tuesday, September 24th on ABC. Watch a trailer for the show below.
