J. Cole has had an especially strong year as a featured artist. His opening verse on Young Thug's single "The London" gave the track a surge of momentum, his track with 21 Savage "a lot" was a highlight of the latter rapper's project i am > i was, and just today, Cole was revealed as the guest on "Family and Loyalty," the first new Gang Starr song in 16 years.
It may be that he's decided to go out on top: in a tweet on Friday afternoon announcing the new Gang Starr song, Cole wrote: "This is the last feature you'll hear from me. Thank you to everyone I got to work with during this run." See the tweet below:
