London soul singer Greentea Peng plays nature off against the harsh edges of inner-city life in her warm and trippy "Mr. Sun (Miss Da Sun)" video. The visual, premiering above, catches the vocalist between underground rail carriages and darkly-lit car parks that then lead into wide open green spaces and psychedelic skies. It's the ideal accompaniment for the song, a jazzy moment ostensibly about welcoming the warm weather back after a period of absence, but one which also doubles as a paean to a troubled relationship.
"Mr. Sun (Miss Da Sun)" is the first song lifted from Greentea Peng's new EP Rising, due out on November 1. Speaking to The FADER about the video, she said: "The video's like a trippy dream and an ode to my man, Mr Sun. It was fun creating this with my mate Felix Brady.”
Greentea Peng plays London's Hootananny on November 8.
