South Korean pop star and actress Sulli has been found dead at her Seongnam home, BBC News and The Guardian report. She was 25 years old. Police told local media that she took her own life, though they are investigating all possible causes of death.
“Her manager visited her home after failing to reach her since their last call the night before,” Seongnam police said. “It seems that she took her own life but we are also looking into other possibilities.”
Sulli, real name Choi Jin-ri, first became known to K-Pop fans as a member of girl group f(x). She departed the group in 2015 after a year off from what was reported at the time as "stress-related pain." She subsequently went on to land a number of acting roles, including a part in 2017 movie Real, and release solo music. Her single "Goblin" was released in June.
Sulli's former f(x) bandmate, Amber Liu, was among those to react to the news of her death on Monday.
