Watch Hayleau’s “powerful, sexy and grown” new music video
Riverdale actress Hayley Law shares a new single from her Hayleau project.
Vancouver musician and actress Hayleau — aka Riverdale’s Hayley Law — has already built up a formidable catalog of smart, sensual R&B. When we covered her single “Banana” in 2016, we wrote that there was something “casual[ly] seductive” about Law’s music, and that holds true with the musician’s latest single “Make You Mine,” a minimal, starry-eyed new cut. Featuring Law’s breathy falsetto over gentle, looping synths, “Make You Mine” is a slyly catchy, refreshingly subtle extension of Law’s body of work.
"I wrote the song about someone I met when I was in New York a few years ago. I couldn't get them out of my head. I was craving them when I was alone. Sometimes the thought of having that person is sexier than actually getting to be with them,” Law tells The FADER via email. “It's a visual representation of my body, building up and teasing this person. While teasing myself. I feel powerful, sexy, and grown when I think about what ‘Make You Mine’ stands for.” Watch the video for “Make You Mine” below.
