Migos’s 2018 hit “Walk It Talk It” did not commit copyright infringement, U.S. District Court Judge Analisa Torres ruled on Tuesday, Billboard reports. In a lawsuit filed in October of 2018, Leander Pickett, who raps as M.O.S., had alleged that the Migos song infringed on the copyright of his 2008 song “Walk It Like I Talk It.” “The only meaningful similarity between Plaintiff’s Work and Defendant’s Work is that the lyrics ‘walk it like I talk it’ form each song’s chorus, or hook,” Torres’s decision reportedly reads. “Having carefully listened to the two songs, the Court concludes that the similarity between the two works concerns only ‘unprotectible elements’ of Plaintiff’s Work.” Pickett's lawyer told Billboard that he is "exploring options for an appeal.”
