Charlotte Dos Santos wrote new song "Harvest Time" at what she describes as an "emotionally turbulent and spiritually confusing” time. The dramatic strings and sweeping vocals of the song, premiering above, reflect her change in circumstance and, alongside luxurious piano lines, combine to create something both stormy and revitalising.
"Harvest Time" is Dos Santos's first release since signing to Because Music (home to Christine and the Queens and Justice) and comes backed with a suitably striking video. Surrounded by nature, Dos Santos performs her song amid a backdrop of rolling green fields and a beautiful waterfall.
Speaking to The FADER via email, Dos Santos said: "'Harvest Time' is about killing your ego and burying the old - be it yourself, old habits or thoughts, patterns that doesn’t serve you- and only harvest with you the important and necessary things to continue your growth. It’s about selectively choosing what personal assets and values we wish to bring onward in life in order to evolve and potentially reach enlightenment. Harvest time is a renaissance and the beginning of a transition."
Dos Santos will tour Europe and the U.K. in February and March next year. A full list of dates can be found below.
