"We're the Power Rangers in the big robot form at this point. We're one." So speaks Bradbrooks, creator of the art collective/brand/whatever-the-hell-they-want-to-be crew known as Productive Honey, aka Proh. For the latest episode of FREQUENCIES, The FADER’s collaborative documentary series with WAV, team Productive Honey—currently made up of members Bradbrooks, Wackavelli, Kiddiedouchebag! and Gab, The Sandbox—show us what it really means to do this thing as a unit. Whether making music, magazines, or merch, Proh make it clear that their bond is at the heart of the project. If you don't have friends like Productive Honey, after watching this episode, you'll wish you did.
“This stuff can flop tomorrow and we’re still going to be hanging out the next day.”
The episode swerves back and forth from Proh's team house to the sets of their latest video shoot, but whether at work or play, Productive Honey seem like they're having the time of their lives. Listening to Bradbrooks describe his Proh collaborators as "the future of music" with such sincerity and confidence, it's hard not to believe him. As the episode closes, he sums up the Productive Honey mission in a single comment: "This art stuff is cool, but when it's all said and done, I still have my best friends. I still have my brothers. This stuff can flop tomorrow and we're still going to be hanging out the next day."
