Fresh off their egregious Oscar snub for the masterful Uncut Gems, the Safdie Brothers are back with another Adam Sandler collaboration: a short film called Goldman v Silverman. The nearly seven-minute black comedy follows two competing street performers in New York City — Sandler plays Goldman, and displays pop-and-lock skills I genuinely had no idea he was keeping in his back pocket. The short reminds me of an old Late Night with Conan O'Brien sketch, but with the pathos for NYC misfits that's a defining quality of the Safdie's work. Check it out above, and read our interview with the Safdie Brothers here.
