Gracie Abrams’s “Stay” video is a perfect Hollywood hang
Watch a cozy new clip from the rising singer-songwriter.
Scrolling through Gracie Abrams's Instagram gives you a pretty accurate snapshot of the 20-year-old singer-songwriter's life. Slotted in next to Family Guy memes, Greta Thunberg love, and fangirl footage of Clairo are homespun clips of new music showcasing Abrams' delicate voice and warm songwriting abilities.
The video for her latest single "Stay" is similarly intimate, showing snapshots of Polaroid pictures strewn across a bedroom floor next to lava lamps and snug blankets. The action then moves outside, following Abrams around Hollywood as she hits the beach, gets stuck in traffic, and takes in a rainbow. All the while she sings about trying to rebuild a relationship with major cracks.
“I needed to confront feelings I had pushed down and denied for a while," she wrote in an email to The FADER. 'Stay' helped me do that”
Abrams plays her first two headline shows later this year. See below for dates:
June 2: The Drake Underground, Toronto
June 4: Mercury Lounge, New York
