Liv.e, pronounced "Liv," will be familiar to fans of Earl Sweatshirt's "MTOMB." She appeared on the FEET OF CLAY track and joined him on tour last year. Now the L.A.-based singer is back riding solo with the fuzzy Barrington Darius-directed video for her song "SirLadyMakemFall."
The welcoming keys on the production feels like the b-side of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood's theme song, but Liv.e's lyrics are a little less PG-rated: "Money gimme erection/horses for your protection/be careful."
She explained the pronoun switching in the song via email: "'SirLadyMakemFall' started off as a conversation I was having with myself about how I would view myself from a feminine and masculine stand point. Hence 'sir lady.' Like what them boys gotta say about Liv? And what them girls gotta say?"
Liv.e will release her next project Couldn't Wait To Tell You in April.
