Ariana Grande is up for five Grammy awards at tonight's ceremony, including a nod for Album of the Year (her first nomination in one of the "big four" categories). Ahead of the big reveal, Grande took the stage for a performance of three tracks off Thank U, Next. Opening with a moonlit, orchestral take on "imagine," she then scampered across stage to a luxe and plush pink set to take on "7 rings" (getting her full worth out of the royalties she's sending Rogers & Hammerstein's way). She then concluded the performance by taking on "thank u, next" — and taking off her ring. Watch footage of her set below.
Last year, Grande backed out of her scheduled Grammys performance following a disagreement with show producer Ken Ehrlich. “I’ve kept my mouth shut but now you’re lying about me,” Grande wrote on Twitter. “I can pull together a performance over night and you know that, Ken. It was when my creativity & self-expression was stifled by you, that I decided not to attend.”
